Diego Maradona has confessed his undying love for Napoli on the 25th anniversary of the club's first Serie A title success.
"The final game at the San Paolo, the night while on retreat in [team masseur Salvatore] Carmando's room watching TV and talking among ourselves.
"I cried only a few times on a football field but that day was a day like no other.
"Along with the World Cup I won with Argentina in Mexico, it is the highlight of my career," he said. "But only on that day was I able to celebrate at home with all my people. In Mexico City, my people were far away. I remember everything from that year: the victories over Brescia, Roma, Milan and Fiorentina - all of them.
Maradona, who joined Napoli from Barcelona in 1984, helped the club win another Scudetto in 1990 before departing the San Paolo the following year.
